During her report, the mayor told the council that Ethos Art Collective was featured on Channel 5 and that the collective will host a holiday art show starting Nov. 21 and running through Dec. 22; applications for exhibiting artists are due Nov. 14.
The mayor also described a nascent effort to pursue a planning grant of up to $250,000 to explore creating or renovating a community center. She said churches, the school district and the city are identified as potential partners and that a Zoom meeting will explain the grant and next steps; successful planning could position the project to access multi-million-dollar construction or renovation funding later.
The mayor said the city will continue outreach through a shared-services meeting and other regional partnerships to highlight Mount Healthy’s work and support development prospects. No formal council action on the grant was taken at the meeting; staff will participate in upcoming information sessions.
