Norwalk honors LA County Library bookmark contest winners from Alondra and Norwalk libraries

The Norwalk City Council recognized the winners of the 46th annual LA County Library bookmark contest from the Alondra and Norwalk branches at its Dec. 9 meeting.
Cheryl Galera, community library manager with the LA County Library, announced the winners by grade category for both libraries and invited students forward to be congratulated by the council. Winners announced from Alondra Library included Maile Saiz Ramirez (K–2), Keir Diani (3–5), Yadira Delgado (6–8) and Lisonbee Guzman (9–12); Norwalk Library winners included Andres Topete (K–2), Lahini Huatita (3–5), Simran Dukal (6–8) and Giselle Garcia (9–12). Galera said winners will be considered for recognition at the Board of Supervisors level.
Councilmembers congratulated the students and parents and encouraged continued reading and participation in library programs.
