Most measures were adopted by voice vote after brief discussion and descriptions of the projects. Council members highlighted recreational benefits, historic-district planning opportunities and ongoing implementation of bond-funded capital projects.
Several council members and the mayor noted the city is pursuing multiple projects tied to the Grow Gadsden plan and encouraged residents to use available channels to obtain details about each contract and project timeline.
Next steps: Staff will engage selected consultants to begin schematic and grant-administration work, and projects will move into design, permitting and procurement stages as specified in each agreement.
