Wheat Ridge planning commission: appointments, grant pursuits and next meeting date

At the Dec. 18 meeting the planning department provided administrative updates: Pat Quinn is on the City Council and Susan Wood has been appointed to fill a vacant commission seat, with additional recruitment for boards and commissions opening now and replacements expected in February. Staff said the Lutheran Legacy Campus property has closed and the concept and plat have been approved; pre-application meetings for the next plat and site plans will follow.
Staff also said the city is applying for a transit-oriented community infrastructure grant (in coordination with the sustainability office and the Colorado Energy Office) to support public improvements at the Ridge Road site for Foothills Regional Housing; staff noted any award would be administered by the city with developer and grant funds covering improvements rather than city general-fund expenditures.
The commission noted that, because of the New Year holiday, the next regular meeting is expected to be Jan. 15; staff said agenda cases for that meeting are not yet confirmed.
Commissioners shared brief local updates, praised recent restriping and traffic improvements on other corridors and noted ongoing public-works projects (continuous-flow intersection work on Wadsworth). Staff directed commissioners and residents to the city's projects map and the website for boards-and-commissions application details.
