Board hears audit follow‑up, Moody's reaffirmation and safety updates including expanded cameras and QR codes
Summary
Committee reports covered a PCG Consulting audit second phase and action plan, finance committee news that Moody's reaffirmed the district's AA‑ rating, and health and safety updates including visitor QR codes, expanded Verkada cameras around construction sites, updated lockdown procedures, and a county behavioral mental health unit as an available resource.
Trustees used committee reports at the Dec. 8 meeting to summarize recent oversight and safety work.
The district said PCG Consulting will move into phase two of its audit and help craft an action plan addressing prior audit findings. In finance, trustees reported that Moody’s reaffirmed the district’s AA‑ (double A minus) credit rating, a development trustees said will help the district obtain lower borrowing costs for future bonds.
The district health and safety committee described operational changes: the rollout of visitor QR codes that provide visitors with the district’s code of conduct and safety protocols; expanded Verkada camera coverage at high school and Rochambeau construction sites; and lockdown updates for gym and cafeteria spaces. The committee also noted a county‑run behavioral mental health unit as an additional resource for schools.
Trustees closed the reports with reminders about community events and a public‑safety PSA about newly active stop‑sign camera enforcement on Marietta Avenue, which the board said can result in a $250 fine for violations.
