Board members focused on how the levy’s allocations would be used. Board Member Christina asked whether law enforcement costs at athletic events are covered under the 1.25‑mill athletic allocation or the 1.5‑mill SRO commitment; district staff clarified that SRO officers are funded from the 1.5 allocation and that any additional security used for sporting events is paid from the 1.25 allocation. Christina also asked how the 1.5 allocation supports child nutrition and after‑school and summer programs; district staff said some extras were not included at the start of the year but are being restored as budget allows and that program distribution is request‑driven by participating middle schools.
Staff told the board they would supply analytics and a clearer allocation breakdown before the next meeting. The superintendent said representatives from the excess levy committee are expected to report to the board at next week’s meeting and that staff will continue outreach efforts over the holiday period.
