Sheriff's lieutenant reports higher call volumes, three county fatalities and new mobile app launch

The lieutenant reported deputies issued 42 traffic citations, 21 written warnings and 10 non‑traffic citations. He said community mapping tools initially omitted a recent 09/20 fatality; that omission makes the calendar‑year total three fatalities rather than two as shown on the mapping site. "I will note still that community maps does not show any 1 of the latest fatalities from 09/20/2025, which had occurred. So it is actually 3 fatalities for the total year," he said.
Repinski described search‑and‑rescue activity in nearby Price County where subjects were located quickly, and said the Sheriff's Office will coordinate with Sawyer County Emergency Management and the highway department on winter preparation and driving‑condition communications.
The office launched a new Sawyer County Sheriff's Office mobile app, available on Google Play and the App Store, which will provide push notifications and faster access to information such as animal control and search‑and‑rescue updates. "You can now download the app on Google Play and App Store. It will provide push notifications and give more access quicker for individuals," Repinski said.
The committee received the report; no formal action was taken.
