Procurement staff reported they evaluated dozens of bids across four categories. The recommendations included awarding Millennium Telecom the leased lit fiber internet‑access contract (07/01/2025–06/30/2028), selecting Spectrum Enterprise for the leased lit fiber wide‑area network (WAN) — a contract not to exceed $200,000 per year — and awarding MGT Impact Solutions LLC for category 2 (on‑premises network equipment) and category 1 (electronics connecting buildings) bids, pending availability of bond funds.
IT staff said the selected proposals could more than double district capacity, reduce recurring costs (estimating at least $25,000 annual savings on one contract and roughly $75,000 annual savings on another), and provide scalability for the next several years. Trustees asked practical questions about interoperability, long‑term vendor mix and procurement scoring; staff said the evaluation matrix considered total lifecycle value, vendor compatibility and the administrative cost of adding new manufacturers to the district’s equipment list.
All recommended awards passed by voice vote; staff will finalize contracts and report back on procurement execution.
