Residents raise crosswalk and guardrail requests; committee asks VDOT to investigate

A committee member asked staff to consider adding a crosswalk from the county park across to Second Mount Zion (Low Massey Park area) because of frequent pedestrian movement between the park and nearby church. The member said the county had invested in park upgrades and a community center would increase pedestrian activity.
The second request asked PDOT to study installing a guardrail on the curve at South River Road (Route 630) and Ladysmith Road after a vehicle recently slid into a ravine there; the member offered to send photos and coordinates. VDOT’s Giovanni Pinedo said the traffic engineering section could review both locations and asked the member to email the photos for tracking.
After the VDOT response and brief procedural items, a motion to adjourn was moved and seconded and the chair closed the meeting.
