Talbot County Council on Dec. 9 presented a certificate of recognition to Cassandra Van Hoosier, director of the county’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism, naming her Maryland Tourism Person of the Year for 2025. The certificate text praised her leadership in promoting Maryland as a tourism destination and strengthening regional partnerships.
Van Hoosier thanked the county council, county manager Clay Stamp and staff including Jessica Morris and Kristen Goller for their support. Council members praised Van Hoosier’s role in promoting the county brand and economic development.
The motion to award the certificate passed on a recorded voice vote.
