Jones County meeting approves routine tax-office items, schedules called meeting

At a meeting of Jones County officials, participants approved a slate of routine tax-office items and agreed to schedule a brief called meeting to approve the mobile home digest ahead of a Jan. 5 deadline.

The county’s tax-office presenter (identified in the transcript as an unnamed presenter, Speaker 4) told the group there were four veterans’ homestead applications pending review and recommended approval. A motion to approve the four veterans’ homesteads was made and carried by voice vote.

The presenter also recommended approval of one COVID continuation application and a package of homestead/exemption corrections and adjustments. "We recommend approval of all 36," the presenter said, summarizing the recommended homestead and corrected deeds. Motions to approve these items were made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
