Superintendent Dr. Motley recommended McDonald for the role at the Dec. 15 meeting, noting her work as director of student support services and prior experience as a principal and assistant principal in the district. Board member Mr. Ziropp described McDonald as "loyal, dedicated, and willing to put forth the hard work," citing shared history working together since 2011.
McDonald thanked the board at the meeting, saying she was "very grateful for this opportunity" and expressed excitement about remaining part of the district's leadership team. The board moved and seconded the appointment and approved it by voice vote with no recorded opposition at the meeting.
The appointment will become part of the district's administrative leadership roster on Aug. 1, 2026. Board members praised McDonald's prior accomplishments in improving procedures for families and leading safety and security initiatives. No compensation details were discussed during the meeting.
