During the Dec. 15 organizational portion of the meeting the Orange Unified Board of Education completed its annual officer elections. Trustee Glass was elected president, Trustee Andrea Yamasaki was elected vice president, and Trustee Sarah Pelley was elected clerk. The appointments were made by motion and carried by board vote.
Later in the meeting staff read out the closed-session actions. The board reported a 7-0 approval of the superintendent performance evaluation tool and timelines for monitoring progress. The board also announced the appointment of Gregory Kemp as coordinator of secondary athletics and activities, confirmed by a 7-0 vote in closed session.
Trustees thanked outgoing board president Chris Erickson for her year of service; the superintendent and trustees expressed appreciation for continuity as the board enters committee assignments and the governance workshop scheduled in January.
