The commission moved and seconded the nomination and approved it by voice vote; Lebeskind was unable to attend because of a medical procedure but will assume the voluntary, unpaid board post. City staff noted the appointment followed an earlier nominee’s withdrawal amid a conflict‑of‑interest concern that had been reviewed by the city attorney and the pension board counsel.
