Staff said selecting an alternate pump manufacturer reduced the chosen contractor's price by $922,192.56 to the recommended award amount of $2,565,305.44.
Public works and utility staff recommended the award based on engineer references and cost savings; commissioners approved the recommendation by voice vote.
What happens next: the county will finalize the contract with the awarded firm, schedule construction, and use the added capacity and backup generator to support permit requirements and operations when the new station is placed into service.
