At the Dec. 1 Augusta City Council meeting, resident Elden Foreman said city crews installed a water line near his home about seven-and-a-half weeks earlier, dug a hole in his yard and left bricks and other debris behind. Foreman said he had made multiple attempts to contact city staff—including at least a dozen messages to staff members named Brad and Mike—and had received no return call about cleanup timing.
A staff member (S4) said they had spoken with staff and would follow up with Foreman after the meeting, noting the crew working on a drainage project in Garvin Park had to finish before streets staff could return to the site. The staff speaker acknowledged the concerns and said they would obtain the status information and report back.
Foreman said he expects a callback and said he would return to the council if staff did not follow up. The council did not set a deadline for resolution during the meeting; staff committed to follow up with Foreman and to provide information from the crew about when cleanup would occur.
