Superintendent Sue Doris told the Auburn School Committee on Dec. 17 that the city council's workshop on the coming school year's budget has been rescheduled to Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and that the school committee is invited to attend.
On facilities, the AMS advisory committee met before the school committee meeting and reviewed process steps and draft recommendations. Mr. Neer reported the advisory group will meet with the city next Monday to review a traffic study for Court Street, is engaging with an adjacent landowner related to a National Park Service grant, and is working with engineering firm Harriman to refine cost estimations. He said the group has identified draft recommendations across six areas and expects to finalize them at its January meeting before presenting them to the school committee for approval.
The superintendent framed the Feb. 2 workshop as the forum to discuss the coming school year's budget with city officials. No budget figures were discussed at the Dec. 17 meeting; details and timelines for boardsmanship workshops and subcommittee assignments were described separately by the chair.
