City licensing staff notified the Public Health and Safety Committee that Whiskey River no longer holds a state seller’s permit and that the establishment closed on Oct. 30. Caitlin told the committee the city’s 30‑day abandonment clause is triggered when a licensed seller closes without resuming operations within 30 days, creating an ordinance violation.
Staff said they attempted to contact the business owner without success and recommended issuing a formal letter inviting the owner to the January committee meeting to explain their plans. If the owner does not respond or plans to permanently surrender the license, staff said they would pursue the appropriate revocation process and may schedule a revocation hearing.
Committee members directed staff to send the formal letter and invite the owner to the January meeting so the committee can evaluate the next steps in light of any response or surrender of the license.
