Garrard County Schools recognize archery team, staff awards and digital-signage work

During the communications portion of the meeting Speaker 3 led several recognitions and described district communication initiatives. The Garyville School archery team and individual archers were invited to the front of the room and Speaker 3 summarized their results: second (3-D) and fifth (bullseye) at the state level, national finishes and placements at world competition. Speaker 3 singled out CJ Walker (first in 3-D and fourth in bullseye at state) and Eli Lamb (third in 3-D at state; second in 3-D at worlds) and asked attendees to congratulate them.
Speaker 3 presented the Fran award for 2024–25 to Carolyn Sparks, noting nominations described her "commitment, passion, and love for CVR" and her behind-the-scenes service. The board also recognized Sydney Ragg for coordinating digital signage, event video and promotional materials across district athletic facilities.
Speaker 3 said a $5,000 donation had been received and will be held in district accounts as seed money intended to reinitiate an education foundation to fund events, scholarships and programs outside the district general fund. "A donation was made, $5,000, and we have wanted to use that as seed money to reinitiate an education foundation," Speaker 3 said. The board discussed the concept and staff said the district will set up the foundation and transfer funds once the nonprofit structure is in place.
The Hall of Fame guideline revisions were discussed later in the meeting and were tabled for further committee work.
