Garrard County board thanks Rep. David Mead after lawmakers secured $7 million for school renovations

Dr. Stull (Speaker 3) told the board Rep. Mead "has been a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since 2013" and serves as Speaker Pro Tem and vice chair of the Committee on Committees and the Rules Committee. "Because of his efforts, Garrard County Schools received $7,000,000 over a 2 year time span," Stull said, and the superintendent described those funds as supporting renovations across the district including sidewalks, parking and the front entry at the middle school, HVAC system updates and the digital signs in front of district buildings.
Stull emphasized the indirect benefit of the legislative dollars: freeing general fund money for other district uses. The board presented the recognition during the meeting’s recognition portion; Representative Mead was invited to join board members for the acknowledgment. No legislative action was taken at the meeting beyond the recognition.
Board members and administrators thanked Representative Mead for his work on behalf of the district.
