Superintendent reports slight enrollment dip, National Honor Society inductions and curriculum updates

Curriculum committee members described several instructional initiatives. Staff announced multiplication and division fact-fluency challenges for grades 3–5, expanded use of a 'creative curriculum' supplement in kindergarten, and the expansion of grade-level departmentalization into fourth grade following earlier success in fifth grade. Committee members said these changes have shown positive impacts on standardized testing and classroom outcomes.
Committee members also described a recommendation to approve an out-of-district placement for a first-grade student and to submit the district's preschool plan (form 2627) to the New Jersey Department of Education. Board members voted to approve the placement and to acknowledge there were no travel expenses for committee activities.
The board thanked staff and community groups for student support and congratulated the National Honor Society inductees.
No formal policy or program changes beyond the curriculum items and the approved student placement were enacted; the board expects further follow-up on curriculum measures and measurement of their effects on student outcomes.
