Wheeling CCSD 21 board approves consent agenda and 2025 supplemental tax levy

At its Dec. 11 meeting, the Wheeling CCSD 21 Board of Education approved routine business items and a supplemental tax levy.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included disclosure that the district received four Freedom of Information Act requests this month and listed board conference and travel expenses totaling $1,872.45.
Under new business, Dr. Connolly explained that the 2025 supplemental tax-levy action is an annual, routine step required to instruct the county to increase the non-referendum bond levy to the full amount available under the district’s Debt Service Extension Base (DCEB) for previously issued limited-tax bonds. "The district issued limited tax, non referendum bonds in 3 series in 2013, 2020 and also 2020," he said, and explained the administrative requirement to direct the county to apply the DCEB adjustment.
The board moved, seconded and approved the supplemental tax levy by roll call. The chair announced the motion carries. The board also approved a motion to recess into closed session to discuss personnel and real-property matters later in the meeting.
No additional budget detail or levy amounts beyond the administrative approval were provided in open session during this meeting.
