The Apple Valley City Council voted to convene a closed session to discuss municipal labor negotiations on Thursday.
At the end of its regular meeting the council moved to "convene in closed session under the labor negotiations exception to the open meeting law to discuss the AFSCME and LELS union negotiations," the mayor said. The motion to go into closed session was offered by Councilmember Graendahl and seconded by Councilmember Belander; the council voted 'aye' and planned to reconvene across the hall in closed session and adjourn from there.
The transcript records the motion and council vote to recess to closed session; no further details of the negotiations were discussed in open session.
