The Andalusia City Council heard first readings Dec. 2 on two rezoning proposals for property along Bruton Highway where the truck bypass enters the highway.
Mayor (S1) described one parcel of approximately 40 acres proposed to be rezoned from AG-1 (agriculture) to B-3 (business) and noted a second adjacent parcel with the same requested change. Both items were presented as first readings and will return for consideration and possible action at the council’s next regular meeting, scheduled for Dec. 16, 2025.
Council members did not take final action on either rezoning tonight; no motions or votes were recorded on these items during the meeting. The mayor said the items will be brought back for a decision at the next council meeting to allow for further consideration and public input.
