Felicia Bernard said Will Franklin from the stormwater division would serve as the float driver and that a loaned battery would power lights. A board member offered to provide battery-powered Bluetooth PA gear for music; Bernard confirmed she had compiled a tropical-themed playlist and would share it for use on the float. The board decided on modest decorations and clear signage rather than large, unsecured props. Options raised for sign text included "Keep our waters clean," "Save our waters," and "Protect our paradise;" the board favored a concise water-protection message.
Bernard said she ordered candy (Junior Mints, Nerds and Dots in paper boxes) for distribution and that staff would provide leis for participants. Members volunteered folding chairs and metal yard art for float decoration. No safety incidents or permits were discussed; the board emphasized not zip-tying loose items that could detach during the parade.
The board treated the parade as an outreach opportunity to promote the city's environmental messaging and encouraged members to participate.
