Wright County to act as fiscal agent for 55‑corridor MnDOT grant, signs agreement and hires SRF for environmental work

Wright County agreed on Dec. 16 to act as the fiscal agent for a state award tied to the 55 corridor coalition and authorized signatures on the MnDOT agreement that will route $1,061,217 through MnDOT to the county for project administration.
Staff explained that a larger grant (roughly $2 million in combined state awards) was awarded for corridor work and a separate award to the 55 coalition must be administered by MnDOT and flow through a local agency; Wright County will receive and manage the funds and charge a standard administrative fee. The board also approved authorization to enter an agreement with SRF Consulting Group to complete environmental documentation, preliminary design, and public involvement for the corridor segment from Highway 118 to County Road 19.
Presenters emphasized there is no added cost to Wright County taxpayers for administering the contract; invoices flow through the county and coalition partners reimburse the county. Commissioners thanked staff and Buffalo city representatives for securing complementary grants toward the local realignment work.
The board adopted resolution 25‑91 and related authorization unanimously.
