After opening and promptly closing a public hearing with no public comment, the Town of Clayton council approved an additional appropriation of $7,000 to the stormwater appropriation to cover recent stormwater repair work.
Council members said the appropriation will be used to pay an outstanding bill (discussed as about $2,900) and to top up the stormwater fund to cover related work. Staff and council described the maneuver as a fund transfer rather than new revenue: the money would be taken from the stormwater fund and moved into the stormwater appropriation to pay the invoice.
Speaker 6 moved to approve the additional appropriation of $7,000; Speaker 3 seconded the motion and the council approved it by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will record the appropriation in year-end accounting and apply the funds to the stormwater invoice and related repairs.
