Pequannock board honors school staffer Brian Boyce and congratulates PV girls soccer

The Pequannock Township School District Board of Education on Nov. 24 recognized a long‑time school employee and celebrated recent student athletic success.

The board presented an "unsung hero" recognition to Brian Boyce of North Boulevard School, praising his day‑to‑day contributions to student safety and school life. A district presenter said Boyce was "the definition of an unsung hero, humble, compassionate, and unwavering in his commitment to our students, staff, and community," noting his roles directing morning drop‑off, assisting preschoolers, supporting staff during crises, tending school gardens and running seasonal events. "North Boulevard is a better place because of Brian Boyce," the presenter said.

Board members and administrators also recognized the Pequannock Valley girls soccer teams, which the district said captured a Morris County championship (the middle‑school team) and a sectional title (at the high‑school level). A prepared statement from the coach described the middle‑school girls’ season as "unforgettable," and individual athletes were called forward to receive certificates. Student representative Olivia Esposito delivered a report highlighting recent school performances, club activities and upcoming events.

The recognitions were part of opening remarks at the board’s regular business meeting, which the board used to thank staff and volunteers and to wish the community a happy Thanksgiving. The meeting included routine business items afterward, including approval of audits and consent agendas, and adjourned after unanimous procedural votes.
