At its Dec. 2 meeting, the Elgin City Council approved multiple routine and project-related items spanning the consent agenda and new-business packets.
The consent agenda passed without items pulled and included: approval of minutes from Nov. 5; a special event application with alcohol, sound and fee waivers and a street-closure request for a Dec. 13 celebration by Ski Elevation Luxury Cuts; a resolution ratifying payment and authorizing a pay application to GrantWorks for milestone two on the Kennedy Street and County Line Road projects; and a resolution approving updated City of Elgin pay scales with COLA adjustments for police and municipal positions.
In new business, council approved an ordinance setting the time and place of the 2026 regular monthly council meetings, moving the Nov. meeting from Nov. 3 to Nov. 17 (to avoid Election Day). Roger Adams was reappointed to the Bastrop County Advisory Board of Health. Council approved direction for distribution of community nonprofit support funding included in the annual budget. Council also approved a chamber agreement to fund operation of the visitor center after discussion with chamber representatives. A resolution authorizing city participation in upsizing water and wastewater mains for the Northside Meadows development passed, and a short-term rental use permit for 204 (transcript records Lehi/Loesch/Lush) Drive was also approved with little discussion.
The meeting recap indicates the votes on these items were unanimous or passed without recorded dissent; individual roll-call tallies were not provided in the recap. Contract details and implementation schedules for GrantWorks, the chamber agreement and the upsizing participation agreement are in the posted agenda packet and project files, not in the meeting summary.
