Floyd County Public Service Authority officials and town and county representatives agreed on Tuesday to pursue clearer charter language and start an emergency fund after PSA staff warned the authority has little money available to cover major system failures.
"If you have an emergency, it's kinda stressful to think, well, where are we gonna get the money to fix this?" Speaker 1 said, urging a proactive approach. Speaker 2, who identified themself in the meeting as the chairperson of the PSA, said the board has been "one of the strongest boards" and urged cooperation: "This is an entire county's responsibility to make sure that we keep it in its best shape."
