Planning and development director Whitney Cook presented three items on the planning agenda and the Board of Aldermen approved all three by roll call.
Item 1: A design review package for an Ace Hardware single‑tenant building and an adjacent three‑tenant office building west of the CVS pharmacy at Church and GetWell. Cook said the applicant used a "farmhouse"-style design and included decorative acorn lighting and landscaping; the planning commission recommended approval with minor landscaping adjustments. The board voted to approve the design review subject to those comments.
Item 2: A subdivision application to consolidate about 17.9 acres on the south side of Goodman Road (east of Elmore) that includes existing Kia and Honda dealership property. Cook explained the platting would clean up title and create Lot 5B and Lot 5C without changing existing ground uses; the planning commission voted unanimously in favor and the board approved the subdivision.
Item 3: A replat to subdivide an existing 5‑acre parcel associated with a veterinary campus into four lots for an existing veterinarian clinic, a 24‑hour emergency hospital, a doggy daycare and a dog park (Precious Paws-related development). Cook said the application complied with commercial standards and the planning commission recommended approval; the board carried the motion.
Board members asked questions about shared access, easements and circulation; Cook confirmed a shared access point with the adjacent CVS and said a likely cell‑tower easement will be handled as easement and not separate lots. All three planning items were approved as presented.
