Logan Jarrett was sworn in as a deputy sheriff of Howard County during the commissioners' meeting.
Jarrett introduced himself to the board and audience, saying he was "born and raised here all my life," attended Taylor High School and has a 2-year-old son named TJ. He said he had served as a reserve deputy in Richerville for more than a year and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join the Howard County sheriff's office. "I couldn't be more thankful and excited to start this journey here for the Howard County," Jarrett said.
Jarrett recited the oath to "support the constitution of the state of Indiana and the Constitution of the United States" and to "faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of my trust as a deputy sheriff of Howard County, Indiana." Board members offered congratulations after the swearing-in.
The swearing-in was followed by routine administrative business including contract and claims approvals; there was no public comment before the meeting adjourned.
