The Mayville Common Council approved creation and posting of a part‑time Recreation Director position and accepted a personnel restructuring plan at its Dec. 9 meeting.
Council members voted to set the Recreation Director wage at $25 per hour, dependent on qualifications, and set the posted hours at 10–20 per week. The council directed staff to post the job using the same free resources used for the TIG Center director: the city website, League of Wisconsin Municipalities, the city Facebook page and Indeed (without paid advertisements).
Later in the agenda the council also accepted proposed restructuring and job descriptions prepared by the personnel committee for the city clerk executive assistant, controller/treasurer, and two deputy clerk positions and authorized posting. A motion to approve the restructuring and job descriptions passed on a voice vote.
Council discussion included confirming the maximum weekly hours for the part‑time position and noting that the initial $25/hour recommendation falls within historically comparable ranges for recreation positions in the region.
