Waynesville R‑VI highlights staff, preschool gains and rolls out 'Revive and Thrive' employee assistance program
Summary
At its November meeting the Waynesville R‑VI board heard staff recognitions, preschool assessment gains and a wellness update introducing an employee assistance program called 'Revive and Thrive' and a district 'wellness week' initiative.
The board paused its regular business to recognize staff and report student‑growth measures before taking up policy and procurement items.
Mrs. Bales opened district announcements by telling trustees the Waynesville district “has received 90% of the possible points on the annual performance report,” marking the highest score since MSEP 6 implementation. Board members praised preschool staff and the expansion of the full‑day preschool program from two to six classrooms.
Dr. Goforth presented the district wellness update, summarizing building wellness representatives (each receives a $250 stipend), three quarterly wellness challenges and the district’s new employee assistance program. Dr. Goforth said the district’s EAP is called “Revive and Thrive,” noting that while 98% of U.S. companies offer an EAP, only “4 to 10% of employees actually take advantage of it.” The district will run a signup drawing and a recurring monthly “wellness week” at each building beginning second semester.
Trustees celebrated individual employee recognitions: Tiffany Finch was named Transportation Employee of the Month, and district nominees including Kaylee Ventura and Rebecca Beal were recognized for their contributions at Williams Early Childhood Center. The district also announced cultural and performance events planned for November and December.
Administration asked trustees if there were questions about the wellness initiatives; none were raised that required board action at the meeting.
