HR manager Valeria Fernandez updated the court on the tax assessor‑collector's office implementation of HB 718, reporting seven vacancies, several internal promotions, and that two positions are expected to be filled in January. Fernandez said the office ran two Saturday sessions and reported 576 pending WebDealer transactions, a reduction of 305 from the prior report.
Commissioners pressed for more clarity about the Eastside Annex closures that residents reported, asking whether staff are being reassigned to WebDealer work and how long closures will continue. One commissioner requested that the tax assessor appear at a future meeting to explain staffing decisions directly. An HR representative said the time‑and‑motion study now underway will quantify transactions, processing time and recommended staffing levels and should be available in the coming weeks to guide allocations for 2026.
The court did not take action on the item but asked staff to coordinate with the tax assessor‑collector and to return with additional detail and the study's findings so the court can consider any necessary adjustments to staffing or public communications about office hours.
