The board approved a set of easements needed to advance joint infrastructure projects with the Town of South Hill and to support construction of a planned public safety building.
County staff described several easements that would allow South Hill to run water and wastewater lines across three county properties, while noting the town would handle administrative tasks. The board voted to grant those easements.
Separately, Dominion requested an easement to relocate an existing power line that crosses the public safety building site. Staff said construction could not commence until the power line is moved so the Hudgins Building could remain powered during the change. The board approved the requested Dominion easement but made the approval contingent on the county attorney’s review of the easement language, which staff had only recently received.
The motions were carried by voice vote. Staff will return with finalized easement documents and the county attorney’s review, as required by the contingency.
