Washington County honors County Administrator Tonya Angie for year as ICMA president

At the Dec. 9 meeting the Washington County Board of Commissioners honored County Administrator Tonya Angie for completing a year as president of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
Julia Novak, ICMA executive director, thanked Washington County and described Angie's leadership during challenging transitions at ICMA. Novak noted ICMA’s global membership of about 14,500 and said Angie's service benefited both the profession and the county.
Commissioners offered personal remarks of appreciation, citing Angie's mentorship, integrity and the value her ICMA role brought to Washington County. Angie accepted the recognition and spoke briefly about professional local government management, the ICMA code of ethics and the benefits of professional networks.
The board presented a plaque and invited county staff and Angie's family for photos. Commissioners said the county will continue to support Angie's engagement with ICMA.
