Sierra Vista toy drives and annual Glow Ride draw volunteers as holidays approach

Foster said the firefighters' toy drive accepts donations through the weekend and asked volunteers to come to Station 1 (1295 East Fry Boulevard) at 1:00 p.m. to help bag and tag gifts; volunteers should return the next morning at 8:00 a.m. for delivery. He said the program fills about 300 bags during the bag‑and‑tag process and that this season "we have a little over 700" children signed up to receive support; Foster encouraged gift cards and cash donations when appropriate. "This is my favorite part of the whole toy drive is that we actually now get to be Santa," he said.
Jai outlined the Sierra Vista Glow Ride schedule and community focus. Vehicles and UTVs stage from 1–3 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park, public viewing opens at 3 p.m., the kids’ Glow Ride is at 4:30 p.m., and the main route leaves the park at 6 p.m. Jai said organizers expect hundreds of decorated vehicles and that proceeds/support from sponsors go to the Salvation Army; she listed multiple returning and new sponsors who support the event and emphasized family participation.
Both guests emphasized that the events are volunteer‑driven and that the community’s generosity sustains them.
