The Joint Animal Services Commission adopted its 2026 budget of $3,941,921 during the Dec. 8 meeting after staff confirmed no substantive changes since the November recommendation.
Sarah Hawk presented the budget and said the figures shown were the ones staff recommended for adoption. Commissioners noted the item had been discussed over several months and praised staff for trimming the use of reserves. Commissioner Klaus said he had coordinated with the county manager and expressed confidence in the proposal.
The commission moved, seconded and unanimously approved the budget. Commissioners indicated staff would continue implementation under the approved appropriations and follow previously discussed monitoring and reporting practices.
The commission moved to the director's report after adopting the budget.
