The speaker said they and their family adopt a pair of marines for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and urged residents to check on neighbors and invite anyone without a place to go, saying, "Please make sure everybody has a place to go." The commissioner also urged partygoers to use local rideshare options to get home safely.
