The Marion County Board of Commissioners approved a broad consent agenda at its Dec. 17 meeting that included grant delegations and contract amendments across multiple departments.
The board ratified delegation to the Marion County Chief Administrative Officer to issue emerging economic opportunity grant funds totaling $200,000 to Marion Polk Food Share to assist residents impacted by a temporary suspension of federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. The consent calendar also authorized a $76,000 addition to a professional services contract with McKenzie Engineering Inc. (raising the contract to a not-to-exceed $732,417.75) to support construction of the Marion County Evidence Building and approved a $104,902 public improvement agreement with Garland DBS Inc. for pressure washing, re-grouting and sealing services at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center exterior.
Other approved items included a $1,578,199.48 not-to-exceed total for Pathfinder Network services supporting the Justice Reinvestment Initiative, an incoming VOCA/Crime Victim grant of $631,809.61 to the District Attorney’s Office (retroactive to Oct. 1, 2025), and an amendment to a purchase order with Carson Oil Co. Inc. adding $1,500,000 for a new total of $6,500,000 to procure fuel for county vehicle and equipment fleets. The board moved, seconded and approved the consent agenda by voice vote.
