Assistant City Manager Imelda Huerta presented the staff report, describing a four-part proposal that would: create and distribute "know your rights" information on the city's website; prohibit federal law enforcement from entering nonpublic city-owned or -controlled areas without a judicial warrant; add contract language to restrict city contractors from disclosing sensitive personal information to immigration authorities except as required by law; and prohibit the city itself from sharing sensitive personal data unless compelled by state or federal law. "Tonight, I will be providing a report on a proposed community safety and due process resolution," Huerta told the council in opening remarks.
