Washington Township honors fall athletes and coaches at board work session

“Every single year, the team climbed, grew, and pushed closer to greatness,” a district speaker said of the tennis team, noting the program’s multi‑year progression. Coaches and the athletic director Kevin Murphy acknowledged student‑athletes, coaching staff and volunteers during brief on‑stage remarks and introduced a video of season highlights. The board recognized individual and team accomplishments and invited the community to celebrate the teams’ achievements.
Beyond the awards, speakers noted wide community engagement — the football semifinal was described as having thousands of viewers online — and thanked staff who support athletics and student activities.
The presentation concluded before the business portion of the work session, which moved on to district reports and negotiations-related public comment.
