The calendar preserves 187 paid contract days for certified staff, keeps professional development days before the school year for classroom setup and required beginning‑of‑year trainings, retains expanded full records days at the ends of quarters and a noon dismissal on the final student day. The student last day is scheduled for Thursday, June 3, with graduation after the school year on Sunday, June 6.
Board members noted the district must follow state statute that establishes a September 1 earliest start date; that constraint, combined with a late Labor Day, limits options for an earlier full week start. Several members said the schedule has worked well and favors continuity for professional development.
The motion to approve the calendar was made, seconded and carried by voice vote. The board directed staff to publish the calendar so families and staff can plan.
