Council adopts multiple ordinances, advances parkland ordinance and approves consent and resolution calendars

The Cedar Falls City Council on Nov. 17 approved a slate of ordinance actions and routine calendar items covering urban revitalization, building-code adoption, zoning changes, fireworks regulations, administration powers and urban renewal tax provisions.
Key ordinance actions included third‑reading approvals for Ordinances 3128 (multi‑residential urban revitalization area amendment), 3129 (national electrical code adoption), 3130 (rezoning at 2309 Main Street) and 3131 (fireworks provisions). Council advanced Ordinance 3133 (parkland dedication process and formula) on its second consideration. Council also approved a group of urban renewal and tax allocation amendments under Ordinances 3134–3136 on second consideration as recorded in the meeting.
The consent calendar (items 14–17) and the majority of the resolution calendar (items 18–45, excluding pulled items) were approved without separate discussion. Several items were pulled for separate discussion (including items 32, 39 and 40) and were handled individually.
Council recorded roll call votes for each ordinance and the clerk reported all members voting in favor where recorded. The meeting also moved bills and claims and scheduled an executive session on litigation strategy under Iowa Code §21.5(1)(c).
