Committee approves $178,250 geotech extension and authorizes two electrical award letters to McBride

The committee voted to authorize an additional $178,250 for geotechnical monitoring services at the Greenville site. Project staff explained the extension was needed because on-site crushed material and ongoing retaining-wall and footing work require frequent, on-site geotechnical oversight. The motion to approve the geotech extension was moved by Mark Koulos and carried by voice vote (recorded as 10–0).
Separately, the committee authorized O&G to issue award letters for bid package 1.26 (electrical equipment, ATS and generator) to McBride Electrical: $396,552 for one early-electrical package and $393,552 for the other. Those authorizations were made by motion, seconded and approved by committee vote (each item recorded as 10–0). Staff explained that removing two allowances from a low bidder’s scope made the recommended award more favorable and that the recommendation follows the bid review and scope reconciliation process.
Committee members confirmed these actions will be folded into forthcoming GMP discussions and that final GMP authorizations will return to the committee at a later meeting. The project team said they will provide the committee with the award letters’ back-up documents and a summary of any allowances removed from the awarded scopes.
