Howell noted the district must finalize whether the public budget meeting will be held on May 13 or May 20 and said the finance committee is working on outreach and an educational document (plus a short public survey) to help taxpayers understand the budget. The finance committee had previously signaled a more active role in early March to improve public engagement and internal review.
No board vote was required at the meeting; the timeline was presented for planning and public notice.
