Machesney Park announces $250,000 in state grants for village hall HVAC and road work

Village officials announced two state grants during the December board meeting.
Finance & HR Director Shannon Hansen told trustees, "The village received $200,000 in grant funds through Senator Stadelman for the HVAC work completed as part of the village hall renovations." Hansen said the release process through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) will begin shortly and the village expects a grant agreement. She also said the village received a $50,000 grant through Representative Cabello to be used on a road project; a completed application was submitted April 23 and the funds were released by the governor’s office.
Hansen said village staff expects additional communication from DCEO with details and next steps before work tied to the grants begins.
