The Village of Machesney Park Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved routine business and moved several items to later consideration.
The board approved the minutes of its Nov. 17 meeting and accepted Treasurer Deb Ong’s report, which listed the village’s total funds as $54,663,788.20 as of Nov. 24, 2025. Trustee Aaron Wilson moved to accept the treasurer’s report and Trustee Sipes seconded; the board approved the motion by roll-call vote, with Trustees Sipes, Roe, Wilson, Bogie and Mayor Johnson recorded as voting "Aye." The treasurer’s report will be placed on file for audit.
The administration and finance committee presented a warrant totaling $1,369,650.97, which the board approved after a motion by Trustee Wilson and a second. The consent agenda — consisting of Ordinance 43‑25 (variance for a billboard at 7600 West Lane Road), Ordinance 44‑25 (special use permit for warehousing at 8720–8764 North 2nd Street), Resolution 74R‑25 (insurance coverages with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Principal Life) and Resolution 75R‑25 (authorizing sale of surplus real estate at 7755 Perryville Road) — was presented by Village Administrator James Fritzer II and approved by roll call.
Trustee Sykes moved to postpone two new-business ordinances (39‑25 and 40‑25) to the Dec. 15 board meeting; the motion was seconded, placed to roll call and carried with the board voting unanimously "Aye."
After public comment yielded no speakers, the board voted to go into closed session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5) to consider the purchase or lease of real estate.
No formal policy actions beyond those on the consent agenda and the postponement were taken during the open session. Further details on the postponed ordinances and any actions taken in closed session will appear on the Dec. 15 agenda or in subsequent meeting minutes.
