Commission recommends rezoning to allow renovation of home on Davis Lake Road

The Putnam County Planning Commission recommended approval of REZ25000017, which would change the zoning of a 1.13‑acre parcel at 216 Davis Lake Road from Commercial Professional Office (CPO) to Residential 1A to permit renovation of an existing single‑family residence.
Ethan Thompson of Planning and Development Services presented the case and said the parcel is not within mapped wetlands and lies in FEMA Flood Zone X. ‘‘Staff recommends approval of the request to amend the zoning map from commercial professional office to Residential 1A,’’ Thompson said.
Commission members asked about property access and whether the parcel is a separate lot; Thompson said the parcel is a stand‑alone lot created from a prior split and that the owner would be eligible for residential permits if the rezoning is approved. There were no public speakers. The commission moved, seconded and voted unanimously to forward a recommendation of approval to the Board of County Commissioners for the Jan. 27 meeting.
